In this post we want to list the most beautiful beached of Campania, according to us!

Note: in this post, we will list only the beaches near Sorrento/Amalfi, there are also a lot of beautiful beaches in the “Cilento” zone, if you want to visit them you can contact us for a private transfer.

Puolo

Puolo village consists mainly of fishermen’s houses.
The beach is made ​​of pebbles and sand, there are free areas and several bathing establishments, bars and restaurants, with tables directly on the beach.

The beach offers rental pedal boats, charter boats, etc.

Puolo offers two beaches:

  • Marina di Puolo

  • The first beach of Puolo is “Marina di Puolo“, whic is pebbly and with bathing establishment, going forward there is a free beach with sand, then a wide cemented space used as a “solarium” where you can rent chairs and umbrellas. In the water in front of the solarium fishermen moor their boats.
    Finally, after a long cliff called “Muraglione” there is another small beach predominantly made ​​of pebbles; here the sea is generally clean and the water cool.

  • Cala di Puolo

  • The second beach is “Cala di Puolo”, whic was a quarry for gravel extraction until the sixties.
    The bay is accessible from the provincial road Sorrento-Massa, through a toll road that runs through what was once the property of the Commander Achille Lauro.
    Currently, the square of the quarry has become a huge parking lot, serving a bathing beach, with sun terrace and bar-restaurant.

How to reach Puolo:

The village of Puolo is easily accessible by car, public transports of private service.

By car:

Puolo is accesible by car along the road that leads from Sorrento to Massa Lubrense and then onto Via Marina di Puolo. At the end of this road there is a paid parking; to reach the Marina di Puolo non-residents have to walk down from here.

Public Transport:

Both SITA and EAV buses run along the road between Sorrento and Massa Lubrense, in both directions. The bus stop is at the intersection with Via Marina di Puolo, from here you can walk down for about 10 minutes.

Private service:

Marina Del Cantone and Recommone Bay:

Marina del cantone:

Marina del Cantone is a large beach with free areas, bathing establishments and restaurants built on platforms above the sea.

Protected from the wind by the mountains, the south facing beach is a warm haven from late March until late October. The water is always incredibly clean and refreshing.
The sun sets over the left hand side of the beach the sun sets almost an hour later than over the right hand side (known as “The Germans’ Beach”). All this features make Marina del Cantone surely one of the most beautiful beaches of Campania.

Recommone Bay:

From Marina del Cantone a short walk (10 minute) leads to Recommone bay.
This gorgeous little bay, perfectly sheltered from the wind, is home to the Conca del Sogno, restaurant and bathing establishment.

The bay also has two caves: the Grotta di Recommone and the Grotta dei Pescatori, both of which offer holidaymakers a wonderfully cool refuge in the hottest hours of the day.

How to reach Marina del Cantone:

By Car:

From Sorrento take the road for Sant’agata when you arrive in this nice little town 400 m from the sea  take direction for Nerano. There are a number of car parks in the vicinity of the beach. You can expect to pay about 10 euro for a day’s parking.

By public transport:

The Sita coach company operates buses from Sorrento to Sant’Agata – Nerano. In the summer, boat connections are available from Sorrento, Positano and Capri.

Private Transfer:

If you want, you can contact us, and our driver will drive for you from Sorrento to Nerano in 30 minutes and the  cost is  about 60€.

Ieranto Beach

Ieranto beach is surely one of the most beautiful beaches of Campania, it is located at the end of the footpath which, from Nerano, heads towards the point where the Amalfi Coast meets the Sorrentine peninsula.

Situated on the eastern side of Campanella Point, the place was considered so sacred by the Ancient Greeks, that they erected a temple here.

The Ancient Romans used the temple as a house of worship dedicated to the Goddess Minerva.The footpath, which commences in Nerano, is circa 2 kilometers long and takes just over an hour to complete. The uphill return journey (not to be undertaken during the hot central hours of the day) takes considerably longer. The beach is situated in a little cove directly opposite the island of Capri’s legendary Faraglioni.

How to reach Ieranto Beach:

By car:

In Nerano, close to the start of Via Ieranto, you’ll find a small car park, where you can pay to leave your vehicle.

By public transport:

The Sita coach company operates a bus service from Sorrento to Nerano. Ieranto bay is situated inside the protected marine park of Punta Campanella. The only boats allowed to sail inside the park’s borders are those belonging to the Sant’Antonino cooperative; these depart from Nerano.

Marameo Beach

Marameo Beach is one of the most historic beach establishment. After the recent restyling, it offers to its customers an elegant environment with many special services: 30 changing cabins, floating sun beds, king size sun beds, leisure zone with giant sofa, chaise lounge and privè with Jacuzzi. It is the only beach with towel service.

How to reach Marameo beach:

By foot:

Marameo beach is in the center of Sorrento,go down the port of Sorrento and you will be there in 30 seconds.

Meta Beach

Meta is the only town of the Sorrentine Peninsula that boasts a comfortable sea access with an extensive beach and equipped beach establishments.

Different to the rest of the peninsula, whose territory is characterised prevalently by a rocky coast, Meta consists of a beach with a large stretch of sand where you can comfortably spend a day under the sun, choosing one of the establishments or rest in one of the free areas of the beach.
The ample space and the conformation of the beach renders it particularly adapted to families with children.

The establishments, apart from the traditional services, offer: bar, restaurant, deck chairs, sun umbrellas and cabins.  They offer also activities of varying genre: small volleyball area, games for children and others.
The only negative point is that the beach is always crowded in the months of July and August.

The beach is divided respectively in two areas:

Marina di Alimuri:

The first part of the beach, in which you find the establishments: Bagni Alimuri, Golden Beach and La Conca.

The beach of Meta:

The last part of the beach, situated at the end of the street, after the tunnel.  In this part, you find the establishments: Lido Marinella, Lido Metamare and Lido Resegone.

How to reach Meta beach:

By Car:

you can reach confortably Merta with your car, and there is a car-parking near the beach.

By Public Transports:

you can reach Meta beach also with the EAV Bus.

Fiordo di Furore:

The “Fiordo di Furore” is one of the most fascinating places on the Amalfi Coast: looking out from the bridge above it is hard to resist the temptation to descend to the little beach in front of the old fishing village, now uninhabited and turned into a museum.

The beach was formerly used as a commercial dock: it is only 25 meters wide but rather deep.
It is always fresh and is lit only by the early hours of the afternoon.

How to reach Fiordo di Furore:

There is no acess for cars to the beach, so to access it you have to go down the stairs that start from the bridge that overlooks the fjord.

With Scooter:

There is no car parking along the way to reach the fjord, so you can also reach it with a scooter.

By Public Trasports:

The Sita coach company operates a bus service from Sorrento to Positano-Amalfi.

Private Car-Service:

This is the most confortable way to reach thi beach, our drivers will bring you to the bridge, and will bring you back to your hotel when you want.
